Big Band Night!

SAVE THE DATE - April 14, 7:00 PM

You don’t want to miss the opportunity to have a

Big-Band experience in the dead of winter.

We enjoyed Richard’s band last August on the Cresswind lawn and now can have some fun and enjoy some different selections inside.

The Cresswind Performing Arts Club is proud to present an evening of music and dancing featuring the Southern Journey Band under the direction of Cresswind's own Richard Petty, who also plays trombone, and includes our neighbors Robert Powers on Bass and Jerry Volante playing Trombone Enjoy this talented group of local musicians who love to make music.

This dance party starts off with a Salute to Dick Clark’s American Bandstand playing the memorable “Bandstand Boogie.” Three feature dance couples from Cresswind will open the show.  An open invitation is extended to all in attendance to come on down and dance just like on the

“Original American Bandstand.”

The first set of songs date back from the 1950’s to the 80’s with such songs as, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Can't Buy Me Love, I Want To Hold Your Hand, and Hey Jude.  We will also play other favorites like the music of the Drifters’ Under The Boardwalk and Save the Last Dance For Me and of course music by The Temptations and Three Dog Nights.  We will also play some Neil Diamond, Everly Brothers, Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clock and Tina’s Proud Mary and several other popular selections.

After the break enjoy a mix of some real oldies like Pennsylvania 6-5000, Moonlight Serenade, In The Mood, Satin Doll, Blue Moon, Georgia On My Mind, The Swingin’ Shepherd Blues, A String Of Pearls.  We also have some great newer selections including Open Arms, Sway (Michael Bublé), the 1963 hit It’s My Party and Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A. for audience participation.

This is your party.  We hope to see you there having a great time!
